A general look at craps

Craps is a game played with dices and has its own fans who enjoy dice games more than other types. Although there are numerous betting options, there is only one type of bet (Pass Line Bet) that a player really needs to know and we can well say that this tip makes Craps one of the easiest games at a casino. The reason why you don't need to learn other betting options is that they are bets with high house edges that should be placed on single dice numbers; which means that they offer a pretty low chance of winning and benefits the casino far more than the player.

Players need to place their bets on the Pass Line section on the table and than shoot the dices. The first round is called the Come Out roll and the player who shoots the dices is called "the Shooter". When you roll a 7 or 11 on the Come Out roll you win and this is called a Natural. If you shoot 2,3 or 12 (the craps) on the Come Out roll, you lose and this is called to crap out. When you roll the other numbers (4-5-6-8-9-10) on the Come Out roll, the specific number that rolled becomes the "point number" and you now need to play Point Rounds until you roll the same point number, without bumping into a 7 first. To explain it more clearly in an example, let's say you neither won or lost on the Come Out roll, then you shot the dices again and came up with an 8. Now you have to play until you get another 8 to win. If you get a 7 before you get your 8, you lose, in other terms you "seven out". In short, in Point Rounds you win if you shoot the point number before shooting a 7.

There's also a Come Bet option that can be used. It works exactly like the Pass Line Bet, but you can place a Come Bet only in a Point Round, and not on the first round. Apart from these, Odds Bets can be placed in addition to both Pass Line and Come Bets. Please keep in mind that Odds Bets are valid only in Point Rounds. The Odds Bet offers the player the chance to win more money: If you get 8 as the point number, now you can place the additional Odds Bet. When you win, your Odds Bet winning is added up to your original bet winning. Odds bets have different pay rates: 4-10 pays 2 to 1, 5-9 pays 3 to 2 and 6-8 pays 6 to 5. Of course, you lose your Odds Bet along with your original bet if you lose by getting a 7 before an 8.
