History

Blackjack occurred in 17th century in France, where a game called Vingt En Un was played in French casinos. The name Vingt-en-Un means "21" in French. During the 17th century there was a game in Italy referred to as Seven and a half. In this card game, which was played with face cards and the 7\'s, 8\'s and 9\'s cards, your goal was to reach a hand of seven and a half points.  Another casino game version was prevalent in Spain, which was called \'One and Thirty\', though the desired total was 31 rather than 21, and the game was played with 3 cards instead of 2. The game had started to gain popularity as in the beginning of the 19th century the government of the US had banned and outlawed gambling activities. The game was still termed \'21\' when it gained popularity in Nevada in 1931 as the State first chose to make gambling legal. In 1953 the first attempt to study blackjack was made by Roger Baldwin and his associates. In 1956 they published their findings in the American Statistical Association under the title "Optimum Strategy in Blackjack". In 1962, Professor Edward O. touched up the basic strategy that Baldwin had worked on and added the first known techniques of the now infamous tactics of card counting. Professor Throp published a famous book in 1963 called Beat the Dealer, which was a national bestseller. Some famous writers published many books about Blackjack. In the 1990\'s another group of players hit the casino halls using card counting techniques: The MIT Blackjack Team. This team won hundreds of thousands of dollars over a short amount of time. Blackjack is growing in popularity during the last few years at online casinos.

Rules

It’s an easy and a simple online casino game to play in which players against a dealer. In this casino game the purpose is to collect the cards with a total value close to 21 without going over 21. If value of the cards in your hand exceeds 21, you lose automatically. If you make a total of 21 with the first two cards, this is called ‘Blackjack’.
